n: a pre-determined temperature used as a basic measurement. The petroleum industry uses 60�F (15.5�C) as its standard temperature during measurement of oil. The volume of a quantity of oil at its actual temperature (assuming it is not 60�F) is converted to the volume the oil would occupy at 60�F. Conversion can be aided by the use of API conversion tables. standing
